At the time of that cartoon we were at war. In return for our taxes we were going to get weapons and food and clothing and supplies to our troops. What could they offer to make our guns more palletable? Safety when they can hold up NYC and DC as examples?

Don't underestimate the DUmmies. Leftists are always willing to resort to violence, and have fewer moral scruples than we do about it. Ask yourself some time about how the White Russian forces lost to the Reds, when they had the entire Czarist officer corps and a major chunk of the army (and almost the entire navy), plus all of the weapons, on their side. The intellectuals delegate the violence to the thugs, who never have a problem throwing bombs. History is full of revolutions that were won by those who initially lacked equipment and training, but made up for it with revolutionary zeal. It's also full of failed insurgencies and revolutions that lacked the capacity to organize and conduct operations or win over the majority to their cause. Ultimately, it depends on whether people believe in the legitimacy of their government and are willing to defend their rights and the constitutional order. That's why this cynical "He's not my president" crap has to stop, because it corrodes our belief in America as a united nation and makes us vulnerable to the stresses that create civil wars. If Obama screws up and weakens the nation, then in four years, we'll rectify the error at the polls. If he does his job consciensciously, and despite our misgivings, succeeds, then he'll deserve a second term. But, either way, he is the president and we must give our allegiance and respect to the office.

Don't forget that the Bolshivek Revolution started on Battleship Potimkin. Most of the officer corp was pro Czar. But the enlisted men were so poorly treated that they were a shoe in to the Bolshiveks.

We must never stoop to their level. The Birth Cert never gained traction, we need to drop it. What we need to do is make our case intelectually, make our ideas and policies known without getting emotional and irrational the way the Left does. Our policies are great, they're the stuff of the Founding Fathers. We've got great sources like Heritage.org & The Cato Institute; it's time for us to make our point and our case to the average Americans. I firmly believe the majority of Americans are Conservative, at least in that they want Government off their backs, lower taxes, smaller government and increased liberty. The Left has just been so much better then us at appealing to their hearts and not their brains by offering easy answers or "something for nothing".

It's gonna take education and hard work to turn this thing around.

I have been giving my grandson of eight books on the founding fathers to read. He loves them.

The children are being taught away from real American heros in schools by simply ignoring them in the teaching. Of course this is being done in the name of socialistic progress where what history and truth are is best hidden to achieve National brainwashing.

As Jefferson said " What is it that man cannot be made to believe. "

Really in this nation, what is it that a nations people cannot be made to forget.

If it is not presented to the the children that become the next generation of leaders.
