Yeah, his political name is Antonio Villaraigosa, which is a fusion of his last name and his ex-wife's. But we John & Ken listeners just refer to him as Tony Villar. And a more useless major never existed. So why is Meg Whitman endorsing him? Well, a real conservative, John Cox is running SECOND in the primary--unbelievable but true. So Whitman is trying to siphon the vote of RINOS like herself away from Cox and towards a hopeless and useless candidate.

Meg Whitman’s disturbing endorsement for California Governor
    https://legalinsurrection.com/2018/0...rnia-governor/

Back in 2010, during my early days of Tea Party activism, our group (the SoCal Tax Revolt Coalition) was invited to take a meeting with the Republican candidate for governor, Meg Whitman.

The California Republican Party asserted that she was the ideal candidate. I suspect that was because she could fund her own campaign. Meg had a net worth of $1.3 billion in 2010, and she spent more of her own money on the race than any other political candidate spent on a single election campaign (to that point).

However, it was clear that the state GOP felt the could co-opt the citizen activists of the Tea Party, so her “reaching out to us” consisted of dully-presented platitudes and instructions on how we were going to help her campaign.

Needless to say, we did little on her behalf....

....Now, this icon of political ineptitude is endorsing one of the worst picks among the large suite of gubernatorial hopefuls.

Meg Whitman, the former eBay and Hewlett Packard CEO who was the Republican nominee for California governor eight years ago, has crossed the aisle to endorse Democrat Antonio Villaraigosa for the same office.

…“Even though she’s a Republican, Meg is endorsing the candidate who she believes is best for the office,” said a person who’s worked with Whitman in the past and asked not to be named in order to speak candidly about her perspective. “In her belief, Antonio Villaraigosa is far and away a better choice than Gavin Newsom on both the economy and education.”

Those of us who recall Antonio Villarigosa’s tenure as Los Angeles mayor will agree with this assessment published in Politico: “Villaraigosa’s actual legacy boils down to three things: deep disappointment, unrealized potential and brazen betrayal.”

In fact, former constituents track him down to protest at campaign events.

Why has Whitman made the endorsement? Because she is one of the many Republicans who voted for Hillary Clinton in 2016, and the “Trumpian” candidate, Republican John Cox, is now running second in California’s “jungle primary”. She hopes to bump him off by having the former LA mayor take that spot.

Of the 4 major candidates - two D, two R - two screwed around on their wives. Villawhatever was one, and Lt. Gov. Nuisance is the other.
    Facts don't matter to DUpipo.

Yep, Pete, but which one of these tards do you think will win? Not a resident of KKKalifornia anymore, but my money is one the nuisance. Villa is just stupid. He will finish in the top two, however.

June 5th, primary - Meg is with him because they were all with:

Tess, from what I hear one of the R candidates could face off in November against one of the Ds (probably Lt. Gov. Nuisance). Unfortunately, it's looking like that R is not the better of the two major R candidates. How much so I can't gauge, because his website doesn't many of his stances. So I'm worried he's a semi-RINO like Pete Wilson, or close to a full-blown RINO like Ahhhhnold.

    Here's what I've seen:

Newsom and Republican endorsed by Trump headed to runoff for California governor, poll shows
    http://www.sacbee.com/news/politics-...211700124.html

Republican gubernatorial candidate John Cox has surged into second place in the race for California governor, according to a new poll from the Public Policy Institute of California.

Cox, a San Diego businessman and real estate investor, is favored by 19 percent of likely voters, up from 14 percent in March. His growing support, along with President Donald Trump's endorsement last week, could result in a second-place finish in the June 5 primary and a spot in the November runoff against Lt. Gov. Gavin Newsom, said Mark Baldassare, president and CEO of the institute.

"The one major candidate in the race who has shown momentum over time is John Cox," Baldassare said, noting Cox's favorable rating among likely voters has jumped 10 points since December. "Certainly he's within very close range of being in second place."

However, "There's still room, and there's still time" for former Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa to pull ahead in a possible Democrat-on-Democrat match-up with Newsom, the clear frontrunner, he said. The top two candidates, regardless of party affiliation, advance to the runoff under California's top-two primary system.
Cox is ok. Even a RINO is better than a full blown Leftist like Newsom. My concern is that our "open primary" makes it possible for no Republican to be running as governor. This is why Meggie is backing Villar. It would knock Cox totally out of the running and the governor's race would have no Republican: only bad dem-leftist and worse dem-leftist.

Cox could have allayed - or confirmed - my concerns by simply posting his stances on a wider variety of issues on his campaign website. That it isn't there was a choice, especially since his R opponent did post his stances on his campaign website. So that choice both concerns and irritates me. But compared to Nuisance or Villasomething, I'd risk getting a semi-RINO in preference to those two.

Same here. Although you know California Republicans... Still, the budget might benefit.
