  1. #1 Recommend a good Vehicle for snow/ice daily commute.
    Hello!

When I lived in a southern state, I owned a Honda Civic. I am considering buying a vehicle again but I'm in a place that has snow and ice. I just need this for a short daily commute. I want something economical and something that will last (something reliable, made well, lasts forever as long as you maintain it).

I'm considering a truck or SUV.

    But, what do you recommend?

He has a good point. At least on cars from the northeast I've seen more "death by rust" than the usual reasons. That road salt stuff is relentless. I've seen the suspension mounting points on some chassis weaken and eventually fail from rust. Rust-through of brake lines are another hazard.

My 2018 Ford Escape handled last winter pretty well.

It's actually my favorite car that I've ever owned. The mileage is not what my Focus got, but otherwise, I love it.
