Seems a lot of people nowadays are being nerds just to be cool and such and wearing fake glasses. I remember growing up when being a nerd would get me shoved into a locker or having my lunch money taken by the jocks in school. Like the movie revenge of the nerds,being a nerd in the 80's was just like that.
