Trump OKs sanctions for foreigners who meddle in elections

Source: AP News

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump signed an executive order Wednesday authorizing sanctions against foreigners who meddle in U.S. elections, a move that counters critics who claim he has not taking election security seriously enough.

The executive order covers not just interference with campaign infrastructure, but it also covers the distribution of disinformation and propaganda, national security adviser John Bolton told reporters. The order requires the Office of the National Intelligence Director to conduct regular assessments about potential foreign interference in the elections, asks for reports by the Homeland Security and Justice departments in the case of meddling in campaign-related infrastructure, he said. It also describes a process for the Treasury and State departments to recommend appropriate, automatic sanctions.

“We felt it was important to demonstrate the president has taken command of this issue, that it’s something he cares deeply about — that the integrity of our elections and our constitutional process are a high priority to him,” Bolton said.

With the midterm elections now two months away, National Intelligence Director Dan Coats said the U.S. is not currently seeing the intensity of Russian intervention that was experienced in 2016, but didn’t rule it out. He said the U.S. is also worried about the cyber activities of China, North Korea and Iran.

So 700 plus days after you got in jerk you sign an executive order now..................well I just gotta ask, have you signed in this executive order money to protect the votes and the machines........................nope.............. .you signed this to make it look do realize in your own narcissistic lack of cognitive way of thinking to not protect the country from foreign interference, that Bill Nelson of Florida, and Sen. Jeanne Shaheen of New Hampshire and Sen. Claire McCaskill of Missouri have stated that there are issues of hacking, your about 700 days to late in your thinking, and I bet you were forced to sign this.................
Obama was WARNED about Russian meddling in the election and did NOTHING. This is how Obama responded to it.....

The Obama White House's chief cyber official testified Wednesday that proposals he was developing to counter Russia's attack on the U.S. presidential election were put on a "back burner" after he was ordered to stand down his efforts in the summer of 2016.

They came during a Senate Intelligence Committee hearing into how the Obama administration dealt with Russian cyber and information warfare attacks in 2016, an issue that has become one of the more politically sensitive subjects in the panel's ongoing investigation into Russia's interference in the U.S. election and any links to the Trump campaign.
Actually he didn't 'just do nothing' his administration ACTIVELY told the individual NOT to do anything about it.

They don't care about that but they WILL criticize President Trump who IS DOING something about it.

1. So he's trying to save his own ass now?

So who's ass was Obama trying to save by NOT stopping them from interfering?
Wonder if it backfired like social media pushing Hispanics to get out and vote in the 2016 election backfired.......not realizing that 29% of the Hispanics would vote for President Trump?

3. knowing donnie, he's going to try to use this to justify deporting more hispanic immigrants....
The ubiquitous "Hispanic immigrants". As if there isn't a difference between LEGAL immigrants and ILLEGAL immigrants.

Is the DUmmie saying that RUSSIANS who interfere with our elections should be charged, jailed and/or deported but HISPANICS who interfere with our elections should be given a pat on the head and told not to do it again instead of being charged, jailed and/or deported? Sounds like it.
