Uh oh ... wet blanket but true ...

    News coming up!

You're not being rational if you think you have a good chance of winning the jackpot, whether it's with one ticket or 100. The probabilities are overwhelmingly not in your favor.

How bad are they? Cornelius Nelan, a math professor at Quinnipiac University in Connecticut, notes the odds are about the same as rolling a die and getting a one, 11 times in a row.

Then again couldn't hurt to buy one ticket, and on the brighter side if you *should* win ...

The article tells you what to do.

    On Quora today

How can one person spend 1.537 billion dollars in the Mega Million Lottery?

First, the winner will be lucky to realize half that amount after discounting the annuity and paying taxes.

Second, it wouldn’t be that hard for most people. Some could be broke in a few years.

Third, is the spending of all the prize money required? How about setting up your family for decades to come? How about some charity work? Create a college scholarship for (your choice of maligned) students. Play Santa with $100 bills in the Bowery. I personally have a list of four vehicles I would have built.

Addendum: I just checked. The estimated cash value is $913 million. There is a default 24% tax withholding on that. So it’s down to $694 million before your local state gets its cut. If you live in a state that does not participate and went to another state for your ticket you may have two state taxes to deal with. If you have any real sense about the situation you’re in, you’ll be spending a significant amount setting yourself up to remain anonymous and protected.
It's not how old you are, it's how you got here.
It's been a long road and not all of it was paved.
. If you ain't havin' fun, it's your own damn fault
