    1889: The first jukebox made its debut in San Francisco, at the Palais Royale Saloon. (The coin-operated device consisted of four listening tubes attached to an Edison phonograph.)

    Hmm, looking at the list of hits for 1889, only Comin' Through The Rye stands-out, but it probably wasn't on Edison's list.

    The US Marines only had one hit: The Hornpipe Polka. It does have sort of a 'partying' quality to it:
