    My lab-shepherd mix, Rocky isn't doing well. In the last few days he's having trouble getting around and he's fallen a couple of times and appears to be in pain. He was fine last week. We have a doctors appointment for Wednesday. He's getting up in years and we're prepared for the worst. Does't make it any better as he and his brother are the closest thing I have to sons. Keep my Rock-man in your prayers.

    Praying for you and Rocky. I love dogs more than I do people a lot of the time.
    Cast your burden on the Lord,
    and he will sustain you;
    he will never permit
    the righteous to be moved.

    My thoughts and prayers are with him. When I die, I want to go where dogs go.

    My patron saint is the pet caretaker in heaven for all your passed pups. Heíll keep them happy until you arrive.

    NJ, hang in bud. Iíve been through this so many times Iíve lost count. Hold him, pet him and keep him as comfortable as you can. Iíve got the connection with the boss running full time.
    It's not how old you are, it's how you got here.

    We've lost too many beloved dogs too and know how it breaks your heart. You and your family and pup are in my prayers. How are the kids dealing with it? My grandkids still talk about their boxers that they lost. I was surprised how grown up they were about it. Here's hoping that Rocky was just having a bad day. Our Bella scared us a while back by pulling up a really bad limp. With long legged dogs so susceptible to bone cancer, it's terrifying to see them go lame, the sign of the dread osteosarcosis. Luckily we started giving her cosequin and she's been doing well, galloping down the hall. Give Rocky a hug from us.

    NJ, I am very sorry. I have lost two pets (both were around 16) and I know how heartbreaking it is. Here is hoping that your vet can help.

    Well, it turns out he's diabetic and the doctor thinks his wobbliness is due to high blood sugar. He's on insulin twice a day now. He's looking and resting better now. He seemed happier this morning.

    Glad to hear this. Personally, I trust vets more than M.D.s.
