  1. #1 Hello from Corpus Christi
    Hello everyone,

I'm Terry from Corpus Christi, a retired professor and just a talkative old man. My hobby is learning Latin (not much progress so far).
Sometimes, from talks about politics, I can switch to metaphysics and philosophy, and sometimes linguistics, just wanted to let you know :)

    Glad to join the community,
    Terry

You'll enjoy thing here. Several of us enjoy metaphysics and philosophy as well as some theological stuff and conspiracy theories (Chemtrails are always fun to ridicule).
Mostly it's politics and making fun of Democrats and their ideology.

    and he will sustain you;
    he will never permit
    the righteous to be moved.

Welcome aboard, I’m familiar with your town as I worked there and lived in Portland.
It's not how old you are, it's how you got here.
It's been a long road and not all of it was paved.

Greetings from the St Louis area suburbs. I lived in San Antonio for 7 years and would go to Corpus from time to time. Welcome.

How are you trying to learn Latin? Grammar books? Videos?

( I took 4 years of Latin and really wanted to be a classicist. Couldn't afford it.)

Well, whichever way he chooses to do so ...

Let's wish him the best in learning 'declentions and conjugations' as that should be the fun part.

I can still remember going around the house repeating all the forms out loud over and over again while memorizing them and driving my family members up the wall!

Still, is a great way to improve your vocabulary.
