Thomas Sowell, a living legend in the field of economics, says he fears the U.S. may eventually succumb to the siren song of socialism.

The author of “Basic Economics,” “The Vision of the Anointed,” “The Quest for Cosmic Justice” and numerous other books said the U.S. may very well go down a path of financial ruin due to “wonderful-sounding” rhetoric.

Mr. Sowell, a Marxist in his youth, made the remarks Tuesday while appearing with Fox Business Network’s David Asman.

    Yikes!

The country is going to Hell in a handbasket, it might as well pass through socialism on the way. The historical cycle seems to be: From bondage to spiritual faith; from spiritual faith to courage; from courage to liberty; from liberty to abundance, from abundance to selfishness; from selfishness to apathy, from apathy to dependency; and from dependency back to bondage once more. We, as a country, are between apathy and dependency now.

Our problmes steem from a bunch of academics who escaped the evils of Socialism in Nazi , Germany to arrive in California in the 1930's.

They look at California and saw a virtual paradise of freedom and abundance , but instead wondering how they could bring this to the world, they begin looking for ways to destroy it.
And their desires to wreak America have been with us ever since.

Its only been in the last two decades that the Left abandoned the idea of getting American workers to rise up and over throw Capitalism ( Leftists always want someone else to do the dangerous part while they reap the rewards). So now they use Idenity Politics to start the revolution while they sit back at Starbucks and tweet about it.

In the long-view of history, what you’ve said is extremely profound... The agenda now is to sell collectivism to the masses under the guise of “free shit falling from the sky, and soaking the rich.” The only problem with collectivism is it lifts no one up. We can all be equal. Equally poor. If you have two more nickels to rub together than your neighbor, then YOU are “the rich”. What could possibly go wrong?

What did we learn from the collapse of Venezuela? The very first casualty was toilet paper. Forget bank runs, or a run on storable food and water. The first thing to vanish from the store shelves was the ability to wipe your own arse.
