CNN Updated 7:36 AM ET, Sun April 14, 2019

(CNN)Storms that killed at least two people in Texas and one in Louisiana crossed the Mississippi/Alabama state line early Sunday, moving the risk of life-threatening winds, strong tornadoes and large hail to a large section of the United States.

The severe weather threat Saturday and Sunday placed nearly 100 million Americans at risk of dangerous storms, tornadoes, hail and severe wind gusts, CNN Meteorologist Haley Brink said.

By Sunday, the number had gone down to 80 million.

"All accompany this system that is marching eastward. New York, Washington DC and Atlanta all within the zone. Greatest risk near Ohio River Valley and S. Appalachia," CNN Meteorologist Derek Van Dam.

We picked up .84 inch of rain so far but
    thankfully no T-Storms.

I don't know, can you get tornadoes when it snows?

Other than gusty winds here 34 mile west of Baton Rouge we got 0 nothing, no rain just gust of wind that was not damaging anything. It just quit gusting not more than 15 minutes ago and the sun is trying to break thru. I expected some rain but it did get cold and I have one heater running now after running air conditioners all day before the storm got here.

Oh yeah. You have heard of thunder snow have you not? If there is a thunderstorm, the possibility of a twister is there.
It's not how old you are, it's how you got here.
It's been a long road and not all of it was paved.

Most mid-america tornados begin in storms that contain lightning to some degree. Itís just the level of weather necessary to create a twister. I slept thru that one way back when because I sleep better with rumbling weather.

I found out today my sister's house in NJ
nearly, VERY nearly, got hit by a tornado
    yesterday by this system.

She said severe T-Storms started around
3am there and all of a sudden she heard
the classic sounds and felt her ears poping

Thankfully the funnel threaded the needle
between her house and just knocked down
a lot of trees. It was close though. And it was
    at night.

DAMN! I would have loved to be there!!!!
