It would seem odd that this comes day after Palm Sunday, now it could be complete nonsense which I am well known to post but things like this just don't happen . This fire spread very fast but the question is now who was working in this crew that supposedly accidentally started the fire, and why would they not have some kind of plan to protect something so valuable ., they had no fire fighting adequate enough to put out this kind of fire knowing full well it would be catastrophic if this place caught fire. I guess it goes with the territory, they already handed over their country to those muslims, just like we're allowing to happen here. They are in our government now

This picture from the Daily Mail shows scaffolding around much of the cathedral and says a massive restoration project has been underway. It's highly possible the fire was accidentally started by the construction taking place

CATHOLIC CHURCHES ARE BEING DESECRATED ACROSS FRANCEóAND OFFICIALS DONíT KNOW WHY

France has seen a spate of attacks against Catholic churches since the start of the year, vandalism that has included arson and desecration.

Vandals have smashed statues, knocked down tabernacles, scattered or destroyed the Eucharist and torn down crosses, sparking fears of a rise in anti-Catholic sentiment in the country.

Last Sunday, the historic Church of St. Sulpice in Paris was set on fire just after midday mass on Sunday, Le Parisien reported, although no one was injured. Police are still investigating the attack, which firefighters have confidently attributed to arson.

If you have Inspector Clouseau, Longstreet, Hear, See, and Speak No Evil, The Three Blind Mice and Sergeant Schultz as the investigatory team in these matters I wouldn't expect a formal statement any time soon.

The only clue that keeps it being a 'renovation-accident' is that it supposedly started on the roof. Hard to believe somebody could sneak in then start it up there, with security-people presumably everywhere inside.

Yet the current renovation started in 2014 and a fire suddenly starts now, just before Easter? 'Now' meaning after the muslim-influx and related church-desecrations in the past few weeks.

Renovators would've taken meticulous precautions about a fire starting. Only certain versions of power-tools would've been allowed on the site, including state of the art electronic hookups.

Authorities already have a pretty good idea who's responsible. Or what caused it.

Glad President Trump was the first world-leader to offer sympathy to the people affected... 45-minutes before Macron did.

Fire is being reported as mostly out. And reports are it's not as bad as feared. Looks like the roof is a total loss, the spire is gone, but the interior survived.

Yes. I heard from the French prez (I think it was) that it would indeed be *rebuilt* ...

But am worried about the loss of paintings & relics from the past in there. How many of *them* have been salvaged?

I say this as not being of the Catholic faith, but is so terrible a thing to have happened at this Holy time of year for all of us.

Especially if not as supposed by many, as simply a "renovation* accident ...

I am so skeptical of that explanation at the moment.
