    But once he leaves, he can be prosecuted. The umbrella of protection is gone.

    Which leads me to think he's confident the upcoming reports will show him as a hapless dupe... lied-to and stage-managed by Deep State. He's probably already 'cooperated' fully with the IG's investigation. So to him, going out as a hapless dupe is a good thing.
