For whatever reason, Thursday nights were almost a bigger party night than the weekend. Maybe it was a Texas "thang".

Itís odd, but true. The best times then, and even during high school were always impromptu and more or less unplanned. Fun times for sure.

Every once in a while, Iíd buy an album despite being clueless about the artist(s), or the contents. This was one such instance. I bought Rembrandt Pussyhorse because the name of the band cracked me up. Mind you, this was before the internuts, so I couldnít do any instant due diligence.

Turned out to be a good buy. You may like it, or you may hate it. Regardless, their cover of The Guess Whoís American Woman is still one of the most remarkably unique covers Iíve ever heard...and Iíve heard bookoo covers over the years:

Iíve also spent time (like countless others) rootiní around the internet for musical ďfindsĒ. Jeebus, thereís a ton of it out there and itís growing all the time. Anyway, I found this several years ago. The guitar work of John 5 takes it over the top:

I listen to a lotta different kinds of music. My favorite band, though, is Lynyrd Skynyrd. If I had to pick a favorite genre’, it’d be so-called Southern Rock. I’ve seen The Marshall Tucker Band twice. The Caldwell brothers died waaay too young. This thumb pickin’ performance by Toy is a real treat:

Tony Jo White aside, Bull Angus predated Skynyrd a bit. Something about the production of Southern-rock and how it needed to be louder than the hippies on both coasts preferred it to be at that time.

I stumbled across this jamminí gem some years ago. The singer evokes Danny Joe Brown, R.I.P. and thatís just fine:

Probably posted this before, but forgive me. Great song, the message of it can be interpreted in several ways. Just seemed appropriate.

I saw them post-Jim and Ray. Yep, it certainly does seem appropriate. And I also
think this one fits a buncha the young, wide-eyed, smartphone-wielding, lemmings:
