    Viva el Cuba!!!!

HAVANA (AP) — The Cuban government announced Friday that it is launching widespread rationing of chicken, eggs, rice, beans, soap and other basic products in the face of a grave economic crisis.

Commerce Minister Betsy Díaz Velázquez told the state-run Cuban News Agency that various forms of rationing would be employed in order to deal with shortages of staple foods. She blamed the hardening of the U.S. trade embargo by the Trump administration. Economists give equal or greater blame to a plunge in aid from Venezuela, where the collapse of the state-run oil company has led to a nearly two-thirds cut in shipments of subsidized fuel that Cuba used for power and to earn hard currency on the open market.

“We’re calling for calm,” Díaz said, adding that Cubans should feel reassured that at least cooking oil would be in ample supply. “It’s not a product that will be absent from the market in any way.”
Yay! They have cooking oil, just not much to cook!!!

Holy cow. If you're dependent upon Venezuela for foreign aid, then you've been in deep shit for a long time.

    What a stupid idea.

I'm guessing the MSM will tell of the hardships caused by Trump's policies while minimizing, or completely leaving out the Venezuela side of the story. So, the already uninformed can become more so. But, they'll do so while excreting their near biblical humanity while calling us knuckle-dragging bigots who are too ignorant to exist.

So Russia can't subsidize Cuba's failure of an economy, and Venezuela can't subsidize Cuba's failure of an economy. Is Cuba going to descend into the state of economic failure - starvation - into which Stalin's USSR, Mao's China, and now Venezuela have descended?

Dem pols preaching socialism need to have their snouts rubbed into the real life deadly failures of socialism.

Going to? That happened fifty years ago. Their capacity to generate electricity is so bad that it was only a few years ago that it became legal to own a toaster in Cuba. Economic failure and starvation (or at least privation) have been the norm there since the '60s.
