    My wife of 49 years ago died and even tho we've been divorced for decades I always loved her and even today I am still close to her Mother and younger sister. Today I received a call from my sister telling me my brother had died last night. So this is two people that are now gone and it is terrible to have to return to my old hardness which I learned in Vietnam, nothing is forever and no matter what happens everyday you have to keep on moving and never stop moving. Don't allow the sorrow and grief of losing someone you love or someone who was your brother. Life never changes and all of us live this part of life as I am this month. All I can do is think about both of them and keep them in my heart forever and remember all the loving and fun times we had together. I will live my life until my time comes and so will everyone else.

    I do understand your pain, more than you can imagine. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
    Cast your burden on the Lord,
    and he will sustain you;
    he will never permit
    the righteous to be moved.

    Do you have a supportive church or other group that can offer you help at this time?

    I am so sorry for your loss.

    I am sorry.

    Elspeth makes a good point about a church. Most churches have support groups for people who are grieving.

    I will live my life until my time comes and so will everyone else.
    And thus is what life is. At our age itís going to be either family or friends or us. All we can do is adapt. Jesus God is on our side and can and will help but itís on us to request that help.

    God be with you.
    It's not how old you are, it's how you got here.

    I'm very sorry. It must be doubly terrible that this happened so close together.
