    This month and next dozens of universities across the nation, from private top-tier schools to public state institutions, will host segregated graduation ceremonies and celebrations for their black graduates.

    These supplementary ceremonies are voluntary and are offered in addition to the universities’ regular graduations. Sometimes they’re co-hosted by black campus resource centers and various academic departments. They serve to give extra honors and recognition to black students earning their degrees

    Well, if they skip the main one for this, it'll have the benefit of a lot less whooping, shouting, and yelling while the White and Asian kids graduate.

    I wonder when they'll get their own water fountains and bathrooms?
    Cast your burden on the Lord,
    and he will sustain you;
    he will never permit
    the righteous to be moved.

    Those who forget the past are bound to repeat it ... but looks like these kids were never taught in the first place.

    They're going to be in for a rude awaking when they find out the world isn't set up just like college was and they have to work with, and under other kinds people; get ready for future spaz outs in the work place.

    On the surface, as long as the ceremonies are voluntary, and people aren't forced out of the official graduation ceremonies, I don't think there's anything wrong with it. Ethnic groups can and should come together and celebrate their shared cultures. However, we already know what would happen if whites only ceremonies, or even European heritage/county/ethnic group only ceremonies (German, British, Icelandic, ect) were held, which is where the double standard fertilizer comes into play.

    Going down the rabbit hole, this article linked in the story is an example of the reality of where all this focus on ethnicity and race has gotten us, celebrating criminals getting an education at what used to be one of the most prestigious colleges in the world. This one presents a very good argument against the whole thing.

    Like other forms of racial separatism on college campuses, segregated graduation ceremonies erode students’ sense of common purpose. They represent a shameless betrayal of Dr. King’s dream of lifting the nation from the “desolate valley of segregation.”

    The commentariat’s choice to avoid scrutinizing segregated graduation ceremonies bespeaks their refusal to discuss how race nationalism practiced by minorities has pervaded the college experience. In place of that discussion, newspapers and their friends in the diversity regime gaslight college trustees, donors, taxpayers, and most of all — students — into thinking these programs improve race relations. But the history of segregated programs and the statements of neo-segregationists show that they have widened the breach between the races.
