The St Louis Blues did the impossible---went from last to the Western Division Champions and going for the Stanley Cup against the Boston Bruins. It's been a long dry spell for them---49 years. Everyone in St Louis is going crazy over this and singing the song "Gloria" for some reason. One radio station has been playing it 24/7. There are "Gloria meet Stanley" t-shirts for sale.

Blues update--won tonight, so series tied 1-1, heading back to St Louis. The city is going crazy. Tonight the arena was jammed with 15,000+ people at a watch party. The admission was low to "watch" on the jumbo screens the Blues play in Boston. It was a sea of blue. (we weren't there, saw it on the evening news). We couldn't have gone as it was sold out, as are the other times when the Blues will be playing in Boston.

Tonight there was in incredible lady 100 years old cheering on the Blues in her home, explaining how she's been a Blues fan for the last 50+ years. She was really cool, looked much younger and totally with it.

Blues went to the finals 3 straight years including their expansion year(beating my beloved Flyers, the first expansion team to win the Stanley Cup, along the way), and got swept all 3 series. But now the good news. My Flyers couldn't win a game in Boston even if the Bruins didn't show up. Until game 2 of the 1974 Finals, in overtime. 3-2. Sound familiar? Flyers went onto win that series 4-2.

Not off the top of my head, though I watched the series. I'm a Red Wing fan, so I didn't have a dog in it, though I was glad that the Flyers had a great run of Cup-titles. New blood.

Happy for the Blues. My late father really liked hockey and despised the Bruins and Rangers for some reason. Tend to personally root for Midwestern teams myself.

Also tend to root for Midwestern teams. St Louis seems to have a longstanding rivalry with any Boston team---whether hockey or baseball. Of course there's always the traditional Cub-Card rivalry. It's always tough getting seats when the Cubs are in town.

Heard they're having a huge party tomorrow afternoon outside before the games, with a large area in the park area that will be roped off, complete with bands, food and of course the all important metal detectors.

Does anyone know what network is carrying tonight's stanley cup hockey final tonight? Our directory courtesy of Direct TV doesn't show it.

Thanks, not a good night for St Louis, final 7-2 Boston. Sadly good old Direct-TV has NBC Sports as a premium station. We have the base package, so don't get it. Oh, well, we would have suffered watching this game. Appreciate the info.
