Americans vastly overestimate the size of the LGBT population
WASHINGTON, D.C., June 28, 2019 (LifeSiteNews) –– In what is a testament to the marketing acumen of LGBT lobbyists and promoters, U.S. adults, on average, continue to believe that about 25% of the population is gay or lesbian, more than five times the actual number.

Overall, a full 90% believe in an inflated number, with 54% of Americans estimating that gays and lesbians constitute more than 20% of the population, according to a June 17, 2019 Gallup poll. Only 8% of those polled come close to accurately estimating the LGBT population.

In reality, LGBT individuals constitute less than 4.5% of the population.

“Overestimations of the nation’s gay population may in part be due to the group’s outsized visibility,” suggests Gallup, citing a GLAAD report that found that 8.8% of primetime TV characters are LGBT.

Thanks, HGTV: Americans VASTLY Overestimate the Gay Population in U.S., Gallup Finds
...In 1989, Marshall Kirk and Hunter Madsen penned a book called After the Ball: How America Will Conquer Its Fear & Hatred of Gays in the 90's wherein the authors outlined a strategy for transforming how Americans viewed homosexuality. They proposed to harness the power of the ad industry and media to depict gays "in the least offensive fashion possible" while stigmatizing those who disagreed with the gay lifestyle. Kirk and Madsen were honest about their cynical scheme to manipulate the American public: "We're talking about propaganda."

...Two decades later, no one would dispute that the campaign to normalize homosexuality has been wildly successful. So successful, in fact, that Americans vastly overestimate the number of gay Americans, believing there are five times as many as there actually are. A new Gallup poll reveals....

...Gallup says the massively inflated estimations are owed to the group's "outsized visibility." Citing an annual report by LGBT advocacy group GLAAD, Gallup explained that "representation of LGBT people as television series regulars on broadcast primetime scripted programming reached an all-time high of 8.8% in the 2018-2019 television season, which is nearly twice Gallup's estimate of the actual population."

One need only watch HGTV's House Hunters for a few hours to understand just how gay mainstream televisions has become. (It's not just television—the mainstream media slants their reporting on LGBT issues in favor of gay rights and goes out of their way to demonize religious conservatives who object to same-sex marriage.)

And let's not forget that this group—representing less than five percent of the population—gets an entire Pride Month to celebrate their lifestyle, with major corporations falling all over themselves to prove how woke they are, despite the fact that Americans are still deeply divided on these issues....

Even that 4.5% number might be a bit high. To borrow DU parlance, broadcast and cable/satellite networks have "normalized" gays by having gay characters or participants or contestants well out of proportion to their numbers in society. During the first show of a series like "The Amazing Race" I've begun commenting about "The Obligatory Lavender Couple" when they are introduced, because there ALWAYS is at least one. Few I've seen - if any - have been obnoxoids or especially affected, but the disproportion is pretty obviously intentional. "TAR" does it, and so do some/many of the cooking competition shows. It doesn't affect my views one way or another, and as for the shows, either the gay/lesbian person or couple have the chops for the show's competition or they don't. I don't get POed or excited if "The Obligatory Lavender Couple" do well.

And of this small minority, a tiny fraction are the trannys. For this miniscule number of arguably mentally ill Americans we are destroying privacy of school children and are working on destroying women's athletic competition.
