When Pelosi's remarks turned personal, Georgia Republican Rep. Doug Collins rose to challenge her and demand that her words be "taken down." The extraordinary rebuke, the first of its kind involving a member of Congress and a speaker of the House in decades, theoretically could result in Pelosi being barred from speaking on the floor for the remainder of the day.
Among other volumes, the House has used Thomas Jeffersonís "Manual of Parliamentary Practice" as a touchstone for House operations even today. Jeffersonís manual stated that House members cannot use language on the floor "which is personally offensive to the President."
As the consultation [with House parlimentarian] dragged on, Pelosi then appeared to leave the House floor, which itself constitutes a violation of House Rules when someoneís words are taken down. Members are supposed to be seated on the floor when a memberís words are stricken.
Honestly I never heard of Representative Doug Collins but he is going on my A List.

Whoops. Pelosi and the Dems can't even get a simple vote right.

Wow... and she just threw the House Parliamentarian under the bus, along with her IQ.

That becomes the news now, rather than the vote. I believe she's not allowed to speak for the rest of the day's session.

    "Republicans" voting for censure:

    Brian Fitzpatrick of Pennsylvania,
    Fred Upton of Michigan,
    Will Hurd of Texas,
    Susan Brooks of Indiana,
and, of course, the pro-impeachment former Republican Justin Amash.

Fred Upton's mostly rural district includes Benton Harbor, a mostly African American city. My sister lives in his district and although she would never vote for him, she has met him at various fundraisers for charitable causes in the area and says that he is a good guy at heart who goes and meets with his constituents all over the district, even in areas where he doesn't get that many votes.

The Upton family is of the Whirlpool money. They now own most of the appliance manufacturing companies in the US-Maytag, Kenmore, and their own brand, of course.
