It’s against federal law for anyone who uses illicit drugs to own or possess a firearm. While this is a topic of much discussion, particularly with regard to medical marijuana and gun ownership.

Regardless of that discussion, it’s still illegal. It’s a gun control law that says they can’t purchase firearms.

The Dayton, Ohio, mass murderer who fatally shot nine people and wounded 27 others had cocaine and other drugs in his system at the time of the bloodbath, a coroner said Thursday.

The doctor added that Xanax and alcohol were also discovered in [the killer’s] body.

Montgomery County coroner Dr. Kent Harshbarger said that authorities discovered a bag of coke on the 24-year-old killer’s body after police officers shot him dead.

I guess the ass wipe needed that little bit of courage to carry out his cowardly act. Not surprised in the least they found it in his system, but you and I have to be the ones that get punished by screwing around with our constitution. One day people are going to get really fed up with this whole silly idea that anyone can control morons and idiots, especially drugged ones.

Cocaine metabolites (BZE mainly) flushes out of the system rather quickly, a positive result after the shooting indicates nothing about whether he had it in his system more than 72 hours before the test, though a hair test can indicate if he was a chronic user and how far back (To the limit of the length of the hair anyway).

Xanax and alcohol is a pretty potent combination. Any psychotropic prescription medication has heightened effects when combined with even a little alcohol.

Throw a couple of lines of cocaine into that and you have a guy who numbed himself real good, then gave himself a little lift to get it going.
