Caught this on tv last night. Remembered it from bygone days. There are more holes in the plot than a Swiss cheese but one line that just makes the whole thing worthwhile.

Why would anybody want to own a Sherman tank? It’s real hard to shoot yourself cleaning it.

It's not how old you are, it's how you got here.
It's been a long road and not all of it was paved.

Strange that he is wearing a 1st Infantry Patch, it goes all the way back to 1917.

Not really. Here’s the IMDB page with a synopsis

    https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0088224/

PO’d dad with a restored tank taking on a corrupt sheriff. Came out in ‘84.

As I said earlier, more holes in the plot than ants in a bed. It would take a page of thin lined paper just to list the ones I remember but still.... lots of good lines, pratfalls and the actual portraying of a family with two intelligent parents, a good son and a work ethic in contrast to today’s always screwed up whatever.

I might've seen part of it. Too much other stuff was coming-out in'84.

Plus there was that guy who did steal a tank and destroyed part of his neighborhood a few years earlier. It got 'hung-up' on an abutment and the authorities blew the guy's head off... or maybe he did. I didn't wanna see Garner in an ending like that.
