    Because back in the days of AOL,geocities,netscape and no google and only newsgroups and such, the internet back then seemed almost like the wild west. While now,it seems so commercialised and mainstream.

    And back then people had to know how a computer worked before they could get on, and when modems came separate from the computer and when everything required a different IRQ and if something had the same IRQ,it would brick the computer.(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Interr..._architecture))

    Noted Captain Obvious.
    Cast your burden on the Lord,
    and he will sustain you;
    he will never permit
    the righteous to be moved.

    There are a lot of things I had when I was younger that were much better, more enjoyable and more effective. Unfortunately sometimes I obsess abut missing my past to no avail.
    I used to think life was like an 8 track tape it more or less looped. Now it is more like an LP vinyl I'm stuck in the next to the last track.

    I tried to win free Van Halen tickets at a San Antonio radio station with a rotary phone in 1984. I didnít get them. Someone else did.

    Hai, this isnít an attack, itís just constructive criticism. Live for today and for the future because thatís where we all are, whether we like it or not. Sure, I long for many things from 20, 30, 40 years ago, but those days have passed. We all have to play with the cards in our hand today. When one door closes, another one opens. Life is short. An old black man told me many years ago, ďYouíll be dead a hell of lot longer than youíll be alive.Ē It made me think...

    miss the early web. it wasnt for everybody but everybody that was interested was welcomed. back then, girls in my class and the cool guys saw the internet as stuff for nerds, today those same people post their whole life on instagram. and thats the part that makes me kind of sad, because at one point, the internet became a market, that tried to get "those" people to use their products and since then, it has became sterile so to speak.
